Text Box: 2005 Canadian Hot Air Balloon Championships Grande Prairie has a long history of hosting Canadians and thanks to YOU the VOLUNTEERS we upheld the high-standards for hosting a competition for the 2005 Canadians September 2 – 5, 2005. The weather was cooperative, (although the days seemed to start awfully early in the morning!), and the pilots were able to fly a “soaring” number of tasks. Dale Ritchie was crowned the 2005 Champion and has the opportunity to represent Canada at the next World competition in Japan. Hats off to the great volunteers who signed up for the event; many positive comments were received from local and out-of-town pilots and crew. Thank you Volunteers!
